Shenandoah National Park is just 75 miles west of Washington D.C. and is home to stunning waterfalls, sweeping valleys, and peaceful forests. Additionally, the park is home to a wide range of animals including deer, black bears, and 190 species of songbirds. The highlight of any visit to this park is hiking to the top of Old Rag Mountain. This hike covers 10 miles with 2,600' of elevation gain and requires moderate rock scrambling, but rewards you with views of the valleys below.
